1.General description
Dimethylacetamide is the organic compound with the formula CH3C(O)N(CH3)2. This colorless, water miscible, high boiling liquid is commonly used as a polar solvent in organic chemistry. DMAc is miscible with most other solvents, although it is poorly soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons.
2.Properties
Colorless transparent liquid Dissolvable in organic solvents like water, alcohol, ether, benzene or trichloromethane; Very good stability in the absence of water, acid and alkaline.
3.Applications1. As an organic solvent of high boiling point, it is applicable for production of high molecular compounds like polyimide( PI) and polysnlfone amide (PSA), of synthetic resin films and yarns as well as for purification of crystallized synthetic drugs. 2. Serve as catalyst in organic synthesis reactions.
